First week experiences: the Recruiter’s tale

With my first week at Hybrid under my belt, this is a great opportunity to take a step back and try and sum up my experiences and describe how much exposure I’ve had to all areas of the company in just five days.

A key reason for my move to Hybrid was the company’s blend of leading products across digital media and the staggering ambition of the business to deliver innovative solutions to new partners across the globe. The business model means there are significant roles to be filled in a number of areas: in Digital, Sales, Creative and Editorial (to name a few!), so getting to know all these teams has been an amazing experience.

What’s become clear in my time here so far is the number of talented team members driving the business forward, and that’s without having yet met the teams in Kuala Lumpur and Sydney! Everyone here knows their market inside out and works at a pace where no two days are the same, but always seem to have the time to support each other and ensure collaboration on projects. That’s how we bring about the best results for our clients.

After being shown the ropes on my induction and trying to remember as many names as possible, it was straight into the Monday sales meeting to understand the goals for the year. This team has a fantastic group of managers that coach and develop the sales team really effectively, while creating a high-performing culture that is hugely exciting to be a part of.

Moving into the middle of the week, it was time to meet with the Digital, Tech and Creative teams. This is the beating heart of the business; the people delivering highly engaging content across all our platforms. Having been immersed in the Creative and Marketing scene for six years of my own career to date, I can safely say the quality of output here is some of the best I have seen. It’s no wonder we have a raft of positive reviews from our clients and are winning new business at an unbelievable rate. It’s clear from day one that I’m going to have a busy time on my hands here in the recruitment team!

Hybrid is also a company that pays attention to the small details – fruit on Mondays, bacon sarnies for breakfast Wednesday morning, drinks to celebrate on Friday, tickets to the Cricket World Cup, competitions to attend the Rugby World Cup, summer and winter events with themed parties and team building activities to boot. It’s not all fun and games, though! Hard work is recognised in all areas of the business.
