New HQ build: work progresses

There’s been fantastic progress on the building work in our new centre of operations, here in Bristol. We’re so pleased to be working with some great partners like Lancer Scott, who are grafting long hours so we can open our new HQ in November.

Of course, managing the everyday nuts and bolts of a significant reshaping and redevelopment project is outside our experience. Apart from everything else, our work for our many clients from all over the world takes up all our time!

So, we’ve employed Project 76, a company that specialises in overseeing every aspect of this type of ground-breaking project; in a nutshell, a “safe pair of hands.”

The new headquarters building is of typical “block” design, and so is being stripped right back to its shell with the original concrete columns and ceilings being cleaned and repaired. All the overhead services will be left exposed, and the new fit-out will bring a tired building back into use with a contemporary edge that is reminiscent of, but goes far beyond the office warehouse conversions found in London’s old east end.

Hybrid news agency: digital, editorial, creative. Our new HQ takes shape.

Normally, of course, when building or renovation works begin, the local community gets greeted with blank, boarded-up premises, and bare scaffolding.

However at Hybrid, we like to do things differently. Because we’re in the midst of incredible year-on-year growth (50 percent last year, and this!), we thought we’d take advantage of the renovation for our new global headquarters and publicise our recruitment drive — and make our brand better known too!

Externally, the building had seen better days, but that is set to change – anyone passing the site cannot have missed the scaffolding with the Hybrid signage. This is concealing the transformation to the exterior of the building which is taking place behind; and the big reveal is only a few weeks away!

The building “wrap” covering the unsightly scaffolding, and the hoarding graphics were a joint project between Hybrid’s creative team and AllSigns, a team of go-getters based a few miles out of Bristol.

Jonathon Warren from AllSigns said:

“It was a real pleasure to work with such a dynamic team of people who can connect with audiences on a local & international level and can get project from concept to reality in a very short period of time.”

Watch this space for a series of on-site videos covering the work’s progression towards completion. We’re excited to move into the new premises, and finally, have the space and facilities we desperately need to grow and make more change happen for our clients. As our business goes from strength to strength, we hope to see you there!
